In 1968, Jerry McMahan left the national CPA firm Peat, Marwick, & Mitchell, and moved to Leadville Colorado for the mountain lifestyle. He began general practice serving the communities of Leadville and Vail. Over time, the practice grew and its main base of operations became Avon, Colorado. Between 1992 and 1995, Paul Backes, Michael Jenkins, and Dan Cudahy all joined the firm and became partners. The firm's service area has grown to include all of Colorado. As a result of the firm's growth and expertise, McMahan and Associates, L.L.C. has become the leader in providing accounting services throughout Colorado.
