McMahan & Associates is offering paid internship opportunities for students or recent graduates interested in public accounting and audit. Based in our Avon, Colorado or Florence, Alabama offices (with limited remote opportunities), our internship program offers practical experience working directly with audits of municipalities, special districts, and other government entities.
Hands-on learning in a supportive team
You won’t just be observing — you’ll contribute to real engagements and build foundational skills. Interns at McMahan work alongside CPAs and audit managers to support fieldwork, prepare working papers, and develop insight into how strong financial systems support thriving communities.
- Assist with financial and compliance audits
- Prepare and organize audit documentation
- Participate in team planning and fieldwork
- Learn the fundamentals of governmental accounting
Develop experience that matters
Our internships are designed to offer meaningful, resume-building experience with mentorship from professionals who care. Many of our past interns have gone on to join us full-time.
